Waterless lithography is an inexpensive and less toxic way to create a lithograph. Traditional lithography uses a combination of ink and water to create an image on a printing plate, which is then transferred onto the printing substrate. In waterless lithography, the water is replaced with a silicone-based material or a specialized ink that does not require dampening. Waterless lithography is a much lower-stakes and faster-moving introduction to lithography, allowing for greater accessibility and experimentation. Participants will learn and experience creating their own plate, from preparing the plate creation to processing, inking, registration, and printing their artworks.
At the end of this workshop, participants will complete an edition of five A4 hand-drawn lithograph prints to take home.

ABOUT THG TUTOR :
This course is taught by artist and printmaker Wendy Wong graduated with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from Bath Spa University in the UK who trained in Hong Kong renowned printmaking artist Jane Liu Siu Chun. She has always been inspired by the cityscape of Hong Kong, the chaotic scenes created by its excessive interwoven city construction. Favourite motifs are human figures, animals, buildings and nature, which she combines to create visual depictions of life using mixed media techniques. She is particularly keen on creating animal-human hybrid characters, in which human behavior and sentiments are projected.

Minimum intake
Please note that we have a minimum participant intake in order to run our courses. This course has a minimum intake of 2 people to run. If there are less than 3 participants we may cancel/postpone this course, and we will issue a full refund. Participants will be notified by email if we cancel this course. Please note that refunds take approximately 2 weeks to be processed. We will issue the refund with the same payment method used by the customer.
Student cancellation
Please note we do not offer refunds to student cancellations. We are not responsible for any events/traveling issues students may have that are unrelated to the course.
If we cancel the course for other reasons
If there is an unavoidable event/issue prohibiting the instructor or the studio to be available that requires us to cancel/postpone the lesson, we will notify students by email by 9:00 pm the day before the class.
