Special Edition: Relief Spring Festival Couplets Printing Workshop / 版畫揮春印刷工作坊

Kung Hei Fat Choy! Chinese New Year is just around the corner!

This relief printing workshop focuses on the theme of the Year of the Snake Spring Festival couplets. Participants will learn the basics of relief printing (this workshop will use plastic plates for printing), including drawing, transferring designs, carving, and printing. Each participant will personally complete at least 5 prints on paper sized (17x17 cm) for the couplets.

All materials are included and will be provided by the studio. The studio uses oil based ink.

Participants will receive a hand-printed woodblock couplet by Jay (Image 2, 23x23 cm).

Bilingual teaching in English / Cantonese / Mandarin

About artist:

Jay Lau Ka-chun is studying Master of Fine Arts in the Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received Hong Kong Open Printshop’s “Hong Kong Fine Print” award in 2019. His art practice focuses on printmaking also sculpture, moving images and photography.

是次凸版畫工作坊以蛇年揮春作為主題，參加者可學會基本凸版畫印刷知識（是次工作坊將以膠版作印刷），包括繪圖、過稿、雕刻和印刷，並親手完成最少5個版次、紙張尺寸為（17x17cm)的揮春。

👨🏻‍🎨 課程導師
劉家俊，現就讀香港中文大學藝術系藝術碩士，2019年獲香港版畫工作室頒發「Hong Kong Fine Print」獎項。曾從事不同兼職，包括畫班導師、教學助理、技術人員、藝術品搬運佈置員、藝術圈臨時工作者等。現時以版畫作為主要創作媒介，同時亦會創作雕塑、錄像和攝影，當中最喜歡的是錄像作品。
